Terms of Use
Last updated: May 15, 2026
These Terms govern use of the current version of Vocalype, including local desktop features, remote account and licensing services, team features, and AI features that may use Vocalype Cloud or another provider.
You are responsible for how you use the product and for the content you process through it. Some features are local, some use remote services, and some depend on third-party providers. Paid plans, team seats, and licenses may be suspended or changed if needed to operate and protect the service.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account, installing Vocalype, or using any part of the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the product.
2. The service
Vocalype is a desktop speech-to-text and writing workflow product. Some functions run locally on your machine. Other functions rely on remote account, billing, licensing, workspace, update, or AI infrastructure.
Local paths
Core dictation and local transcription workflows may run entirely on-device depending on your settings and chosen engine.
Remote paths
Sign-in, licenses, subscriptions, team workspaces, cloud post-processing, and some meeting features can require network services.
3. Accounts and seats
- you must provide accurate account information
- you are responsible for your credentials, your device, and activity under your account
- team owners are responsible for how seats and workspace access are assigned
- we may suspend, limit, or remove access in cases of abuse, fraud, non-payment, security risk, or breach of these Terms
4. Billing and renewal
- Vocalype may offer free access, trials, paid subscriptions, seat-based plans, or custom commercial terms
- billing, invoices, and payment collection may be handled through Stripe or another designated processor
- unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled
- pricing, entitlements, and plan packaging may change in the future
- except where required by law, amounts already billed for the active period are not automatically refundable
5. Your content and remote providers
You remain responsible for the audio, dictation, transcript, prompt, and workspace content you process through Vocalype.
- you must have the rights and permissions needed to process that content
- you must review whether a workflow is local, remote, or team-shared before using it for sensitive data
- if you invoke Vocalype Cloud or another provider, the relevant content may be sent to that provider for processing
- generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable without human review
6. Acceptable use
You may not use Vocalype to:
- break the law or violate confidentiality, privacy, or intellectual property rights
- circumvent licensing, seat limits, security controls, or payment systems
- probe, attack, overload, reverse engineer, or misuse the service or connected infrastructure
- resell or redistribute the service except under written commercial permission
- process content in a way that violates a third-party provider's terms when you choose to use that provider
7. Availability and changes
We may add, change, limit, or remove features, plans, providers, models, integrations, or pricing at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, permanent compatibility, or that every feature will remain local, remote, free, or commercially unchanged forever.
8. Disclaimers and liability
Vocalype is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that transcripts, AI outputs, summaries, or automations will always be accurate, complete, or fit for a specific purpose.
To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or business-interruption damages, including loss of data, revenue, opportunities, or reputation arising from use of the service, third-party providers, or user misconfiguration.
9. Suspension and termination
- you may stop using Vocalype at any time
- you may request deletion of your account subject to legal, billing, and security retention needs
- we may suspend or terminate access for breach, non-payment, abuse, fraud, legal obligation, or security reasons
- termination does not erase amounts already due
10. Privacy
Your use of Vocalype is also governed by the Privacy Policy and the Security page.
