Vocalype is designed for dictation default local. This page simply explains what data stays on your machine, what data passes through our services, and in which cases a cloud provider can be used if you enable it yourself.
By default, your audio recordings and transcriptions are not sent to our servers. However, some optional cloud features may send data to a third-party provider if you choose to enable them.

- Optional cloud mode: if you enable a cloud provider, some data may be sent directly to that provider for processing
Optional cloud providers visible in the product include: Google Gemini, Groq, Mistral and Deepgram for certain transcription functions, as well as OpenAI and other compatible providers for certain text post-processing functions.
These cloud functions are optional. They are not necessary for basic local operation. When you activate them, the processing operations concerned also fall under the confidentiality policy of the chosen provider.
